Counseling Frequency: Counseling services are offered according to the frequency and number of hours identified in a Patient’s Behavioral Health Assessment and treatment plan. Counseling services are delivered by a Personnel member who has the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the counseling that addresses the specific behavioral health needs of the Patient as identified in the Patient’s Behavioral Health Assessment and treatment plan.
Models of Care/Therapies: Our Clinicians offer counseling to supports members who are struggling with life stressors. Some are trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Meditation, and creative therapy. We utilized Trauma Focused Motivational Interviewing techniques to assist Patient in clarifying their statements or feelings, a therapy method useful when expressing empathy, developing discrepancy, avoiding arguments and confrontations.
Individual Counseling: One-On-One counseling includes but is not limited to, trauma work, cognitive re-scripting work, relaxation training, awareness exercises, and any designated exercises and involvement that is appropriate to strengthening Patient resiliency, self-awareness, and appropriate management of their behavior. Individual therapy is scheduled as often as deemed necessary by the therapist as indicated on the Patient’s individual treatment plan.
Group Counseling: Our group counseling sessions place emphasis on positive peer interaction and group discussion. We utilize strength-based strategies that help change behaviors. Psycho-educational groups may also be offered and include topics such as anger management, domestic violence, nutrition, life skills, etc. Topics are driven by treatment plan issues, goals, and education on a variety of themes.
